Alsobrook Party of 5 - Life with Witt

It has been quite the adjustment and since Witt has arrived!  I say that and it also seems it is no way attributable to him.  He is the best baby!  It is easy to take advantage of his disposition and leave him be and I hate when that happens. I love to hold him and love on him and watch his new giggles and his smile.  It is very difficult to do though with two demanding little girls.  At 5 and 2 Daley and Demi require a lot of attention.  Daley is in the "Watch me Mommy!" stage and Demi just says it because Daley says it and quite frankly it is a cry out for attention because they often times have to come up with something for me to watch after they ask.  It leaves me frustrated with them and that's unfortunate too.  We are getting there though!  And, every day is better than the last.Witt will be 4 months old in 9 more days and I can not believe it!  Baby's truly don't stay babies long.  It seems like yesterday is newborn outfits swallowed him whole and now he is busting out of them like the Incredible Hulk! He is such a joy and his sisters love him so much.  They are always trying to entertain him and make him laugh.  Laughing is his latest trick :)  He smiles constantly any time anyone shows him any attention and there is nothing more rewarding than the achievement of making a baby smile, so everyone is an entertainer these days.

Demi is 2 years and 4 months and she is full of senseless speech!  She babbles and babbles all day long, most of which no one can understand, but she really enjoys doing it.  She is our entertainer!  She sings and dances as much as she babbles and most things she says she turns into a song and dances to it.  Right now her latest tunes are "Happy Birthday America" and "Hello, My Mama Said No".  Her daycare (of which we are so pleased with) has really pumped up the 4th of July!  It is such a blessing to watch little ones be so patriotic.  She has been talking about America's Birthday for two weeks.  I went to the store and bought all the ingredients to make a special 4th of July cake so as to not disappoint on this special occasion.

Daley turned 5 this May and she is blossoming into such a young lady.  She has the vocabulary and attitude of a preteen and I am fearful for how much worse it will be when she finally gets that age.  She asks a lot of questions!  She is very curious and very smart.  She works on reading and writing on her own constantly and would prefer to do "her important work" as she calls it, over playing.  Sometimes I wish she would "stop and smell the roses"  but it is hard to discourage her spirit.  She is a little mother to her sister and brother.  She is constantly bossing Demi around and telling her what to do and she loves to hold Baby Witt and feed him.  Haven't convinced her to change any diapers yet :) She makes me so proud in all of her accomplishments.  She is not a daredevil to say the least.  She is very fearful of being injured in any way.  She has conquered her fear of the water this summer and is even swimming in the deep end!  My big girl!

Zach and I are constantly trying to find a balance between work and family and time with each other.  The area lacking the most is of course our time with each other.  We are making an effort, but it is hard to leave those little sweet faces for alone time when you are already leaving them for work on a daily basis.  It is for me anyway, can't speak for Zach.  Pretty sure he just want to go out to dinner, just the two of us! :)  We are finally getting to the areas of our house that we neglected since Witt came 2 weeks after we moved in.  I have wondered if it would ever get the way we want it, but it is coming along.  This past weekend I actually uncovered an air conditioner vent in the laundry room that I didn't even know we had because it was covered in boxes. Sheesh!  We are now working on a backyard for the girls and Witt to play in, and after that is complete I hope to work on the garage and maybe actually be able to park a car in it sometime in the near future. But, until then we will keep pushing along and enjoying this precious time in our lives!

March 12, 2012 - Witt Alsobrook

On March 12, 2012 at 12:12 p.m. we welcomed our baby boy Zachary DeWitt Alsobrook, Jr.  He was 8 lbs 13 oz and 21.5 inches long.  It has only been a few short weeks that he has been with us so far, but we have loved him from the second we laid our eyes on him.  He has two loving big sisters that "help" so much with taking care of him.  If he survives their "care" he will be a better man for it!  We love you Witt and we are so excited you have joined our family and we look forward to watching you grow!

Not Blogged in a While, but With Good Reason!

So I haven't blogged in a while BUT a lot has gone on so I feel as if I deserve a pardon. We had Christmas, New Years, A trip to Disney World, Zach's Birthday, Valentine's Day, Demi's Birthday, My Birthday....And, did I mentioned we MOVED on my Birthday??? And, Baby Witt is due March 12!!

For Christmas one of the highlights is that I got a SURPRISE NEW CAMERA from my WONDERFUL IN LAWS to replace the aforementioned camera lost in a blog post below. Now at least I can post pics again, and not from my phone :) Hence the reason why I only have a few pics posted below (some from my phone) to document our very blessed Christmas that we celebrated this year. Before Christmas Day at about noon, I had no camera. I posted a pic of the new camera too :)

And an Auburn Basketball Game

New Year's was about as thrilling as New Year's can be at 7 or 8 mos pregnant.  We barely made it awake long enough to watch the ball drop on TV at 11pm CST!  HA! No pics to document all the excitement : /

Disney World was about as AUsome as Disney World can be!  We went to watch Aubie compete in the 2012 National Mascot Championship. OF WHICH HE WON!  The girls had a blast at all the parks and Daley especially had a great time watching Aubie compete.  She loved watching the cheerleaders perform at their National Competition too, unfortunately by this time Mommy was exhausted and could not stay any longer.  I did promise her, next year though, that we would drive our own car to the competition and stay as long as she wanted to!  I used to go to Nationals for Dance Competition so this is right up my alley and I would love nothing more than to share this time with her.  I could watch for hours!

Demi was under the weather most of the trip:(  This was by far her best day!!!

Zach and the girls in front of Cinderella's Castle. Very Far Away! Not great pic taking on my part, but an important one to get nonetheless.

Right after our trip to Disney Zach celebrated his 31st Birthday.  Birthdays are not what they used to be with two little ones running the show.  We did get a cookie cake to celebrate, although it was chosen by Daley and probably not what Daddy would've picked :)  Happy 31st Birthday Zach!

Next was Valentine's Day.  I unfortunately did not get any pics of the girls opening up their Valentine's gifts (probably was afraid a pic of our boxes from packing might show up), but I did get these lovely flowers delivered to my work by a very special husband!

Cookies the Girls and I made for Valentines

A few weeks after Zach's Birthday, Demi celebrated her 2nd Birthday!  Luckily I had planned it in enough advance to be at A Play Place, since our house was on the market and I was "hoping" it would sell and we didn't know where we would be.  And guess what......we sold our house too! Someone came out and put an offer on our house the first week of February with the request that we be out February 27th.  SUPER FAST taking into consideration that I am due to have baby #3 March 12 :)  So, while our house was in disarray we were able to pull off a "destination" Birthday party for Demi Doo and I think it went off without a hitch!  Well I say that, but this is excluding the fact that there was a helium shortage and I had to drive all over town to fill up the balloons :)

Most recently, with everything taken into consideration that could have possibly gone wrong along the way, we bought a new house and moved in on my Birthday! We bought in Brook Highland which is a good ways down 280 from Trussville and much closer for Zach as he is travelling to Auburn/Opelika more and more for his law practice.  I LOVE THE NEW HOUSE!  I have had so much fun getting everything in order and unpacking and decorating, even though decorating is really not my thing.  All while being 9 mos pregnant at this point :)  The reason for the purchase of the new house was 1st; to have more room as we are expecting baby #3 and 2nd; to get Zach a little closer to Lee County.  We have succeeded! And, while we have yet to totally unpack with a baby due in 5 days, we are sleeping there and it is in living condition.
